Birds I'm watching: Spring Lake (Jan. 26, 2011)

I took a quick walk around Spring Lake yesterday. Although I did see my first Fox sparrow of the new year, there was nothing unusual. Still, a walk around the lake is always pleasant. The highlight was this Pied-billed grebe that popped up in front of me out of the glassy, still water.
